Assignment April 14th 2008

Personally I think the government has every individual marked down as a number for them to keep track of even before technology was out there. Our social insurance numbers are 1 proof of that. How do you think they manage to pay people for say family allowence, welfare, GST and so on. They can access everything about you just by having that number plus they can do it anytime anywhere without permission from anyone. Alot of places will let you know that when your asked your info its for the place only and that they will not leek out your information. Then there is those places that do leek it out which is scarey that after awhile numerous places have access to your info. When ever I am asked I return the question to what for? I hate to really give out info just because no one really knows whats lurking on the net. I have a friend who after purchasing tickets for the movies throught the bank machine, he comes to find out few weeks later that his saving account is gone and his in debt...all because some jack ass from the movie theater stole his information as he entered it into the interact machine.

Assignment for April 9th 2008

I can say for myself personally that I use the emails quite alot. It would depend on who your talking to for you to say conveying, as I talk to a close family member or friend, even though emails are known for being a chatty conservation, I think that they would understand if I was really excited about something or sad about another with out even hearing my voice, almost like they can hear me saying it. Then you talk to someone that is A casual conversation, thats when they won't have the same effect talking to you on the computer as they would on the phone. Emails can be used personaaly all depending on whose talking and whose talking to who on what. I personally would never give anyone bad news on A email but thats out of respect for the person. I just learned with the "Netiquette" is that its like a form of being polite when you can't answer your emails, say from being away, you can have a email sent saying just this. Also never really known about the replying because usually I'm the type that just clicks the forward button instead of sending a new email to anyone but maybe in the future I will start doing just that!

....

Well after watching the video for our next reponse paper, it had me wondering...What is the technology coming too? How much further is technology going to be? As you watch the differnet steps that it took for technology to reach today, imagine 10-20 years from now. Where will it be? It seems like it can't get any further since I feel like we've reached the point as to "what else is there"? Then i watch the Epic video and see that wow it can go further.

Wow what up with that?

In the first sizable layoffs in its history, Google is cutting about 300 jobs from the American operations of DoubleClick, the advertising technology company that it acquired recently, according to a person with direct knowledge of Google’s plans. Know why would they being that? I didn't get the whole info on it but is it from not needing people who are getting replaced with technology? Or is it just a corporate thing??
